In ENG 3120 – English Lit 1700-Present, which I taught online Fall 2020 semester at Wayne State University, students regularly shared commonplace books within their semester-long assigned coteries (groups) to enhance course participation, to immerse into eighteenth-century literary culture and practices, to improve reading comprehension and assist in selection of their favorite or key passages to examine in their close readings and literary analysis assignment.
